God's Word is our mirror ( I got this from my Foundation Truths 1 Book )

The bible provides us with a mirror of spiritual revelation.

A normal mirror shows us only our "natural face."

The mirror of God's Word shows us our inward spiritual nature and condition.
The Bible is a mirror of the soul.

But the result it produces in us still depends largely upon our reaction to it.

When the "mirror" reveals a condition of spiritual uncleanness, we must go immediately to the Great Physician of our souls.

But common mistake made by many is that when they read God's Word and come under spiritual conviction, their immediate reactions may be guilt, remorse, weeping and reponding to the altar call.

But that is as far as they would go.

By the next day, when the impression begins to wear off, they often go back to their old ways!
Very soon, he "forgets what kind of man he was."

He no longer recalls the unpleansant truths which God's mirror so clearly revealed to him.

Unmoved and complacent, he continues on a journey that takes him further and further away from God.
